4 killed in separate mishaps in Nagpur

Nagpur, July 17 (UNI) Four persons were killed in three separate mishaps in the last 24 hours here, the police said today.

According to the police, two persons riding a motorcycle died when their vehicle was knocked down by a speeding truck at the outskirts of the city on Nagpur-Amravati Road in the wee hours this morning.

The rider, identified as Sameer Khan Hamid han Pathan (28), died on the spot, while the pillion rider, identified as Akan Khan Hafiz Khan (28), died this morning while undergoing treatment at a hospital, the police said.

Another motorcycle rider, identified as Joseph Thomas Anthony (35), died of injuries he sustained after he was hit by a speeding tipper late last night, they said.

In another accident, a scooter rider, identified as Gurucharan Singh Saini, was knocked dead by a speeding tipper on Nagpur-Bhandara Road yesterday, the police added.
