MP: 12 killed in bus-trolley collision
Hoshangabad(MP), July 17: Twelve people, including 9 women and 3 children, were killed on the spot when a tractor trolley collided head-on with a private bus near Kesla block headquarters of Madhya Pradesh's Hoshangabad district early this morning, police said.
Majority of the victims, travelling on the tractor trolley, were tribals hailing from Khohda village of Hoshangabad district and were on their way for pilgrimage at the Devi temple at Salkanpur in Sehore district. A marriage party from Bhopal was travelling by the bus on their way to Gondia in Maharashtra.
As many as 43 people, including eight people aboard the bus, were also injured. The bus driver, who was seriously injured, had been referred to a hospital at Bhopal while other injured were being treated at local hospitals, police said.
The accident took place near Sukhi river, close to Kesla, on Bhopal-Nagpur highway, Itarsi's Sub-Divisional Officer(Police) D P S Rajput said.
