Silver up, gold eases on bullish global advice

Mumbai, July 16: Both the precious metals displayed a mixed trend today, with Silver ruling better but Gold eased modestly on thin demand by ornament makers, traders at the Bombay Bullion Association said.

Following are the closing rates of spot silver and gold: Silver (per kg) 999 fineness grade : Rs 17,935 (17,930), Gold (per 10 gm) Gold 99.5 purity standard mint : Rs 8,760 (8,765) Gold 99.9 purity pure Gold : Rs 8,805 (8,815).
