Puducherry CM laid foundation stone for Check Dam

Puducherry, July 16 (UNI) Puducherry Chief Minister N Rangasamy today laid the foundation stone for the construction of a Check Dam across Pennayaru river at Komanthamedu village in Bahour Commune.

PWD sources said the Dam would be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 9.98 crore.

The Dam would help to prevent the intrusion of sea water into the river and would also improve the quality of ground water, as water was being stored.

Puducherry Speaker R Radhakrishnan and PWD Chief Engineer C Anandane were among others, who participated in the function.
