HC seeks report on Ganga pollution
Allahabad, July 16 (UNI) Hearing a case concerning Ganga pollution, Allahabad High Court has directed the expert committee constituted by the state government to submit a comprehensive report by September 21.
The order was passed by a division bench comprising Justices B S Chauhan and Ashok Bhushan on a PIL filed by Hari Chaitnya Brahmachari Mahant of Jhunsi, Allahabad.
Kamala Singh, project manager Ganga Pollution Centre Unit, UP Jal Nigam, Allahabad had filed an affidavit and had submitted for some solutions, regarding sufficient flow of water in Ganga, during non-monsoon season.
It had been said in the affidavit that water of tanneries and factories, flowing dirty water should be prevented.
However, the petitioner's counsel had submitted that the report was short and did not disclose details.
