HC order to UP higher education dept
Allahabad, July 16 (UNI) In the matter of selection of principals and lecturers in various degree colleges, Allahabad High Court has directed the Director, Higher Education, Uttar Pradesh to issue appointment letter to the selected candidates within three weeks.
The selection will be subject to decision of the writ petition.
Passing the order, a two-judge bench comprising Justice V M Sahai and justice Bharati Sapru also stayed the order of Commissioner, Allahabad division passed on July 16 by which he had directed the Director, Higher Education not to issue any appointment letter to selected candidates.
The Commissioner, Allahabad was conducting a preliminary inquiry with regard to the conduct of Member of Higher Education Service Commission by the order of state government.
During enquiry by the impugned order of July 16, he had restrained the commission from issuing appointment letter.
The order has been passed on the writ petition of Dr Bharat Singh and five others, challenging the order of Commissioner, Allahabad.
The court was of view that Commissioner had no power to direct the UP Higher Education Service Commission or state government to stop the interview or not to issue appointment letter.
