Date for final argument in Sarkar and Krishnaiya murder case fixed
Patna, Jul 16 (UNI)-The date for final hearing in sensational murder cases of CPI (M) MLA Ajit Sarkar and DM G Krishnaiya were fixed by two separate sessions court here today.
Additional District and Sessions judge of Patna B.M.Srivastav directed CBI to begin its final argument from tomorrow in MLA Ajit Sarkar murder case.
CPI(M) leader and MLA Ajit Sarkar was shot dead at Purnia in the year 1998. RJD MP Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav currently lodged in Tihar jail and a former MLA of Bihar Rajan Tiwari were among the accused facing trial in the case.
Meanwhile, Additional District and Sessions judge of Patna R S Rai today closed the defence evidence in D M G Krishnaiya murder case and fixed July 21, the date for final argument.
The case was related to the murder of G Krishnaiya, the then DM of Gopalgunj district at Muzaffarpur in 1994. Former MPs Anand Mohan and his wife Lovely Anand, MLAs Vijay Kumar Shukla alias Munna Shukla and Akhlaque Ahmad were among the several accused facing the trial.
