Chahal bail case adjourned to July 23

Chandigarh, July 16 (UNI) The Punjab and Haryana High Court today adjouned to July 23 the hearing in the plea of Bharat Inder Singh Chahal, former media advisor to the ex-chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh, for regular bail in connection with the case registered against him on June 10 at Ludhiana for alleged attempt to murder and land grabbing at Daad village.

The order was passed by Justice Uma Nath Singh while hearing the plea of Chahal, who is presently lodged in jail at Patiala.

Chahal and Jagdish Pal Singh Grewal, the father-in-law of Chahal's son, are among the accused in this case. Chahal's arrest was effected when he came out of the Vigilance Bureau office at Ludhiana after joining the investigation into the alleged scam pertaining to award of construction contract of Ludhiana City Centre project by the Improvement Trust to New Delhi-based Today Homes.
