Birlasoft expands operations to Czech Republic

New Delhi, July 16: Information technology services Birlasoft (India) Ltd today said it has expanded its services by setting up an office in Prague, Czech Republic.

''The new office at Prague has been set up to be in proximity to our customers and provide better service. It is this customer-centric approach which has prompted us to open new offices and facilities in distant parts of the world,'' Birlasoft CEO Kamal Mansharamani said in a statement.

Birlasoft is expected to set up more offices globally in the near future.

Enlarging the footprint of its global delivery system, Birlasoft is also exploring avenues in South-east Asia and the Far East. New offices and partnerships in the region are in the pipeline, said the company statement.

Birlasoft already has some key clients in Prague, the new setup will also help the 1.2 billion dollar C K Birla Group company to explore new opportunities in the upcoming information technology market in Eastern Europe.

Birlasoft already has a strong presence in Europe. It has been running operations in the United Kingdom for a long time and has recently set up offices in Amsterdam and Frankfurt to tap business in the Benelux region and Germany respectively.

The company has also spruced up its India operation by setting up a 2,000-seat facility in NOIDA. The first phase with 1,200 seats is expected to be functional in the next two months.
