14 held for gambling in Anand

Anand, July 16 (UNI) The Vasad town police have arrested 14 youths for allegedly indulging in gambling activity at Vadod village and seized Rs 60,505 cash and other materials like mobile phones.

The police team, led by PSI B L Patel, raided the village yesterday and made the arrest and seized Rs 60,505 cash and mobile phones, police said today.

The team also impounded 2 Qualises (each worth Rs 10 lakh), one Indica Rs 4 lakh, Maruti WagonR Rs 4 lakh and four two-wheelers worth Rs 30,000. Overall, the seizure was worth Rs 19.93 lakhs.

The youths belonged to Anand, Vidhyanagar, Nadiad and Karamsad.

After the raid, Anand DySP Pathak asked the Vadod police to take action against the gamblers, police added.
