Two militant hideouts busted in Kashmir;70 kg explosive seized
Srinagar, July 15 (UNI) The Army today claimed to have seized 70 kg of explosives from an orchard and unearthed two militant hideouts in Baramulla district of north Kashmir.
A defence spokesman said, ''23 Punjab in a joint operation with the Jammu and Kashmir Police launched a search operation at Galakal in Baramulla district following specific information.'' The troops seized 20 kg of explosives from an orchard during the operation, he added.
In another operation, the spokesman said 2 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and 29 RR busted two militant hideouts at Khor based on information provided from own sources.
He said a search was carried out at the residence of Ghulam Mohammad Teli, a carpenter, at Khor.
During the search, the spokesman said the column busted two hideouts in the wall of almirahs in the house and seized nine AK rifles, 11 pistols, four UBGL launchers, 4400 pistol ammunition, 100 belted Pika ammunition, eight RPG rounds, seven CTN ammunition, ten mortars, seven RPG boosters, one UBGL grenade, one hand grenade, 50 kg explosive, 40 electronic detonators and other war-like stores.
