Prohibitory orders in Mysore following clash

Mysore, July 15: Tension prevailed in the city following clash between two groups and prohibitory orders under section 144 144 KSRPC had been imposed in five police stations limits of the city today.

Police said trouble broke out after an incident in which one of the prayer halls was disfigured and damaged in N R Mohalla area in the city late last night.

City Police Commissioner Bhaskar visited the spot and additional police has been deployed.

Meanwhile, six people had been taken into custody by the police for investigation.

The situation was tense but under control, Mr Bhaskar said.

Tanveer Sait, former minister and MLA of the N R Mohalla constituency visited the spot and appealed to the clashing groups to remain calm.

''We have already taken measures to identify the persons, who were involved in the incident,'' he said.
