Pratibha's candidature a great "disrespect": BJP Mahila Morcha

Hyderabad, July 15 (UNI) BJP Mahila Morcha National President Kiran Maheswari today alleged that the candidature of Pratibha Patil for nation's top constitutional post was a great ''disrespect'' to women and it never symbolised women empowerment.

Talking to newspersons here, Ms Maheswari said ''a rubber stamp President is a very big danger to Indian democracy.'' Alleging that the Congress was spending a lot of money and resorting to blackmailing, she said the present developments were a shame to Indian democracy.

Ms Maheswari said the BJP was committed to providing 33 per cent reservation to women in legislative bodies.
