Pass-out, girl student of PDKV commit suicide in Akola

Nagpur, July 15 (UNI) A former male student and a girl student of Dr Punjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth (PDKV) committed suicide at two separate places in Akola in Vidarbha region of Maharashtra today.

The male student, identified as David alias Dinesh Patrikar (23), consumed poison on the campus of the institution in Akola this afternoon, a PDKV spokesman told UNI.

Before taking the extreme step, David sent an SMS from his mobile telephone to his parents, who live elsewhere, informing them of his intentions, he said. David had passed out from the institution in May last and was suspected to have been depressed as he had not found a job, the spokesman also said.

The girl, identified as Pradnya Dadarao Bhojane (22), ended her life by setting herself afire in a room where she was staying in the city, the spokesman said. The cause could not be known as she had not left any suicide note behind, the spokesman added.
