Master plan for development of Malout: Badal

Malout, July 15 (UNI) Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today said that a master plan had been prepared for the upliftment of Malout town.

Addressing a 'sangat darshan' here , he said that the problems related to water supply and sewerage in the town would be sorted-out within next four months on priority basis. The work of clearing the sewerage line would also be started on a war footing and for this the state government was providing two machines permanently to the Municipal Committee, he added.

He had also directed the electricity department to revamp the power distribution system within three months to ensure full load capacity and regular supply of power in the town.

Mr Badal also informed that a committee comprising representatives of National Highway Authority India , Punjab Drainage Department, Municipal Committee, Town Planning Department and public was being constituted to prepare a Master Plan for the drainage of rainwater in the town. A grant of Rs 80 lakh had been sanctioned to the municipal committee for repair of streets and lanes.

During day long Sangat Darshan, the Chief Minister and his wife Mrs Surinder Kaur Badal met town residents in groups and listened to their grievances and problems.
