Major fire breaks out in HLL godown in Thane Dist

Thane, July 15 (UNI) A major fire broke out in a godown of Hindustan Lever Limited (HLL) at Vavai village on the outskirts of Bhiwandi in the district, gutting the goods stored inside.

The fire started at about midnight. About six fire tenders from the surrounding towns of Bhiwandi and Kalyan were pressed into service to extinguish the blaze, which had not been doused till this morning, the district rural police said.

There was no casualty, however, there was heavy loss to the property.

The cause of the fire was still not known, police said, adding, the estimated loss would be determined later.
