Lal Masjid operations not to dislodge peace process: Pranab

Kolkata, Jul 15 (UNI) External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee today said the Lal Masjid operations in Pakistan will not derail the peace process between India and its neighbour.

Mr Mukherjee, who came to the city today, said, ''It is Pakistan's internal matter and it will in no way affect the peace process between the two countries.'' In a daring operation,Pakistani security forces stormed Lal Masjid, a citadel for Talibanism, on Tuesday and killed nearly 160 people, including Lal Masjid chief cleric Abdul Rashid Ghazni.

''It is the duty of any country to control terrorism,'' he said.

Talking about the Bangalore-educated doctor Mohammed Haneef, he said, ''If he is found guilty, law will take its own course.'' Haneef is alleged to be involved in the botched terror attack on the UK.

''Terrorism will not be tolerated in any form,'' he said.
