CRPF officer killed in grenade blast during training
Jamshedpur, July 15 (UNI): A CRPF officer was killed and several others injured when a hand grenade accidentally exploded during a training camp at Kiriburu in West Singhbhum district.
Police said the blast occurred when Sub-Inspector Raghvendra Singh was imparting training to policemen in handling the explosives yesterday. The blast critically injured the officer along with his colleagues. They were rushed to nearby SAIL hospital where Singh succumbed to his injuries.
Agitated the CRPF jawans reportedly vented their ire on senior officials and manhandled deputy commandant Sunil Kumar at the SAIL hospital. Mr Kumar was later shifted to Jamshedpur for security reasons, the sources added.
