Central team visit Chikungunya affected areas

Kottayam, July 15 (UNI) The six-member Central team headed by Dr S Venkitesh, Joint Director of National Institute of Communicable Disease today visited the Chikungunya epidemic affected areas in the region.

Starting from the District Hospital, the team members visited the patients in the OP and IP sections and collected blood samples of complicated cases.

Later, they visited Pala, Kanjirappally, Pampady, and Mundakayam areas.

Kalpana Barua, Joint Director, National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme, Dipesh Bhattacharya, National Institute of Communicable Disease, Dr Ashok Kumar, Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, Dr Mandip Chadda and Dr Paresh Sha ware the other members of the team.

Later, the team went to Pathanamthitta.
