Budget allocation to be increased for Judicial dept

Tirupati, July 15 (UNI) An additional Rs 50 crore would be released from the Rs 287 crore allocated in the budget, Andhra Pradesh Law and Courts Minister R Chenga Reddy said today.

Addressing a press conference here, he said the budget allocation would be increased if necessary for judicial department and all necessary steps would be taken to speed up the execution of pending cases and strengthen the department.

He said the government had filled 120 vacant posts in various departments under the Judiciary with one and half per cent increase in remunerations besides providing promotions to law officers.

Answering a question, he said data of pending cases, including land acquisition and compensation with the courts in the state, was not presently available.

He said review meetings would be conducted in North Coastal Area shortly and also at district level after the Assembly session on pending cases and problems.
