Villagers block road to protest doctor's killing
Hajipur, Jul 14 (UNI) Enraged over the killing of a veterinary doctor in Maoist attack at Panapur Langa village in Vaishali district yesterday, local residents today blocked the Hajipur-Mahua road here disrupting traffic.
Police said protesting villagers had placed the body of Dr Yogendra Thakur on the main road. They were demanding the arrest of the killers and payment of compensation to the bereaved family.
Senior civil and police officers were persuading the agitators to lift the blockade.
Meanwhile, according to reports received here, Officer-in-Charge of Town police station Bundi Manjhi had been suspended for the dereliction of duty during last night's maoist attack.
Veterinarian Yogendra Thakur was killed and four others were injured in the incident.
