Vadodara DCB busts fake currency racket, 2 held
Vadodara, July 14 (UNI) Sleuths of the Vadodara detection unit of the Crime Branch (DCB) today busted a fake currency racket with the arrest of two people, including the mastermind Jakir Patel, from Bharuch.
DCB police which raided the house of Jakir in Jalam village today seized a colour printer, scanner, fax machine along with a total of 39 fake currency notes of the denomination of Rs 100.
DCB sources said they swung into action yesterday after a cloth trader of Mangal Bazar filed a complaint for being cheated by a youth with two fake notes of Rs 100.
Acting on the tip-off, DCB sleuths caught one Adam Patel, a resident of Bharuch, from Kirti Stumb bus depot and seized 30 fake notes from his possession. The trader identified Adam as the same youth who had purchased clothes from his shop with fake notes.
As Adam confessed to the crime, DCB teams were sent to Bharuch and kingpin Jakir was nabbed from his Jalam residence with printer and seven more fake notes.
Jakir and Adam were today produced before a local court which remanded the duo to three days police custody.
