Three militants killed in Manipur

Imphal, Jul 14 (UNI) At least three suspected militants were killed in an encounter with the combined force of Army and police at Khambam of Imphal West today.

Superintendent of Plice, Imphal West, Clay Khongsai said a major search operation was launched at the area and the suspected militants fired a barrage of bullets forcing the force to retaliate.

In the ensuing encounter, which lasted for thirty minutes, at least three ultras were killed.

Later, two AK-56 rifles, six magazines, one M-16 rifle were seized.

The SP said in another incident a Kuki National Army (KNA) militant was nabbed from Imphal airport today.
