Three decomposed bodies recovered from well

Pudukottai, July 14 (UNI) Police today recovered three decomposed bodies, including two children, from a well near the new bus stand, here today.

Police sources said based on a complaint from a passerby that foul odour was emanating from the well, a police team rushed to the spot and removed the bodies.

The deceased were identified as M Chithra (30) and her children M Arun (9) and M Anitha (6). They hailed from Vanniyan Viduthi Village near Alangudi in the district.

Chithra was the second wife of P Muthukumar, an agriculturist and was reported to be missing with her children for the past three days.

Police suspect the woman must have killed her children before committing suicide due to family quarrel.

The bodies were sent to the Government Hospital for post-mortem.

A case had been registered and an investigation was underway, police sources added.
