several roads and bridges come under water
Belgaum, July 14 (UNI) Nine roads and bridges in Chikkodi and Raibag taluks have come under water following the release of water from Rajapur barrage located in neighbouring state of Maharashtra.
Official sources said that Maharashtra had released 1.30 lakh cusecs of water from the barrage from Sangli division today causing the submergence of the roads and bridges in the district.
A total inflow in Almatti is at 2,30,000 cusecs and the same is left out to maintain water level, the sources said.
The present level at Almatti is at 516 mts.
As per today's report 20,844 hectares of land had been hit from the heavy rains amounting to a crop loss of Rs 88 crore, the sources said.
