NMCE launches 43 new series, 6 'spread series'

Ahmedabad, Jul 14 (UNI) The National Multi-Commodity Exchange (NMCE) is launching 43 new series and six new 'spread series' for futures contract in different commodities.

The commodities will be available for trading from Monday.

The 43 new contracts being launched from Monday include gold, silver, cardamom, pepper, rubber, gur, guargum, isabgul; cumin seed, cotton seed, linseed, sesame, mustard/rapeseed, groundnut, soya bean, coconut, their oils and cakes; crude palm oil, RBD palmolein, rice bran, moong, masoor and sugar.

Out of these 43 new contracts, the trading cycle of 37 commodities will expire on October 15, 2007. Similarly, the new contracts in rubber and sacking will expire on November 15, Castor seed (10MT) on December 15, and that in pepper, coffee Arabica and Robusta on January 15, 2008.

The six new spread series include three each in Pepper and Rubber, for specific periods of July 16 - August 14, July 16 - September 14 and July 16 - October 15, 2007.

NMCE also provides electronic platform for trading in other commodities, such as base metals, kilo gold, chana, soyaoil and guar seed, having different schedules of introduction and expiry days.

The delivery centres for different commodities, as per specified quality, are at specified warehouses of the Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC) in the country. They are backed by robust and reliable CWC delivery settlement system and finances from Punjab National Bank (PNB).
