MLA to go for indefinite fast from July 16
Hyderabad, July 14 (UNI) Senior Congress leader and MLA P Janardhan Reddy today said he would launch an indefinite hunger strike at his residence from July 16, demanding that police register an attempt to murder case on Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy's brother Ravindranath Reddy and his son.
Talking to newspersons here, Mr Janardhan said he would launch the hunger strike at his residence, as the police had not given permission to him to organise it at a public place.
Alleging that the police had registered attempt to murder cases on his son Vishnuvardhan Reddy and not on the Chief Minister's brother, he demanded the Government also suspend the West Zone Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Madhusudhan Reddy from services immediately.
Meanwhile, Director General of Police (DGP) M A Basith told newspersons here there was no need to register attempt to murder case on Dr Reddy's brother, as there was no evidence in this direction.
Police have not given permission to the Congress for his hunger strike, as it is not a serious issue, he added.
