Jordanian doctor to be detained for 7 more days

London, July 14 (UNI) A Jordanian doctor, Mohammad Asha, whose detention warrant expired today along with that of Dr Sabeel Ahmed, will now be detained by police for another seven days.

''A warrant of further detention has been applied for and granted on a man aged 26 (C) who was arrested on June 30 the M6 by officers from the MPS Counter Terrorism Command, supported by officers from West Mids Counter Terrorism Unit, '' said Scotland Yard in a statement.

The statement added that the warrant expires in the afternoon of July 21.

Two men, one aged 27 (F) and one aged 24 (G), remain in custody at a Central London police station, said the statement.

Dr Asha was arrested by the anti-terror police with a 27-year-old woman believed to be his wife, Dana, on the M6 motorway.

Dr Asha is reportedly work in the neurology department at the North Staffordshire hospital, in Hartshill, Stoke-on-Trent. He qualified in Jordan in 2004 and was registered to work in the UK until 2008. It is alleged that he holds a Jordainian passport and is of Palestinian origin.
