JAC calls 24-hour strike on July 17

Imphal, Jul 14: Protesting against several deaths due to the negligence of a doctor, a recently formed women's committee has announced a 24-hour statewide bandh, from July 16 midnight.

Meanwhile, sit-in-protests continued today in parts of Manipur against the alleged negligence of a doctor resulting in the deaths of women in delivery cases.

Joint Action Committee(JAC) convenor N Dhanaprakash urged the government to terminate the doctor from service in the interest of the people.

The bandh would last till July 17 midnight.
