New Delhi, July 14 (UNI) Light showers greeted Delhiites in the morning today, maintaining coolness in the air throughout the day.

The city experienced intermittent rains for the third successive day, bringing the mercury to a minimum of 25.2 degrees.

The maximum was at 34 degrees, a wee bit higher than yesterday's 33.8 degrees.

The weatherman has forecast enhanced rainfall in Delhi and other plains of northwest India in the next two to three days under the influence of an upper air cyclonic circulation over North Bay of Bengal. Today, the effect was felt more in Western UP and neighbouring areas.

''The current meteorological analysis suggests that fairly widespread rainfall is likely over the Western Himalayan Region and adjoining Northern plains during the next two to three days,'' the Met office said.

The Met office has forecast a generally cloudy sky over Delhi during the next 24 hours with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers.
