Govt keen to complete pending irrigation projects: CM
Hyderabad, July 14 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy said pending projects would be completed to irrigate additional nine lakh acres of land in this year.
Reviewing the irrigation facilities during the khariff with the officials concerned here, Dr Reddy said 12 projects would be over in the next five months, a release said here today.
The government was taking all possible steps to complete the construction of 26 projects by the end of 2008 and another six pending projects by 2009.
The active monsoon over the state has boosted up the governments efforts to supply free power to agriculture sector, he said and added that reservoirs like Jurala, Srisailam and Sagar were over flowing.
