Genpact retains top slot in Nasscom's export list

New Delhi, July 14: Nasscom's annual rankings of the top 15 ITeS-BPO exporters in the country considers Genpact as its top slot in software and services industry association in the rankings based on export revenues for the fiscal 2006-07 followed by Mumbai-based WNS Global Services.

The other companies under top 15 rankings is listed in the below given table.

The list doesn't include some companies whose corporate headquarters are located outside India, but have significant India-based delivery capabilities, and have not shared their India-based revenue figures. These include names such as Convergys and Sutherland Global Services.

In FY07, the Indian ITES-BPO segment grew by 33.5 per cent, contributing $8.4 billion to the total software and services exports of $31.4 billion. Nasscom expects the segment to grow at about 30 per cent in fiscal 2007-08 to clock exports of $10.5-11 billion. The domestic market for ITeS-BPO grew to $1.2 billion in FY07 from $0.9 billion in the previous year. The employee base of the industry grew to 5.53 lakh from 4.15 lakh during the period.

"The Indian BPO sector has witnessed significant transformation over the past decade. Starting with basic data entry tasks, it now includes increasingly complex processes. The domestic market has also contributed to the growth of the segment as a whole. Overseas M&A, along with increase in scale and depth of existing service lines, has complemented the growth of this segment," said Nasscom president Kiran Karnik.

Nasscom said that the ITeS-BPO segment witnessed steady growth during FY07 across the finance&accounting, customer interaction services and human resource administration categories.

Vertical-specific and niche business services like financial services research support, data analytics and modelling, corporate research and legal services are expected to account for about 8-10 per cent of the total value of BPO activity undertaken in India, Nasscom said.

Other companies to figure in the top 15 rankings, in the order they are ranked, are Firstsource Solutions, HCL BPO, Infosys BPO, EXL Service Holdings, Citigroup Global Services, Aegis BPO Services, HTMT Global Solutions, 24/7 Customer and Mphasis BPO.
