Badal to give representation to 'Dhanak Samaj'

Bathinda, July 14 (UNI) The Punjab Government would ensure due representation for the 'Dhanak Samaj' in various Boards and Committees to be constituted in the state.

An announcement in this regard was made by Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal during a function organized by Dhanak Samaj to celebrate the 609 th birth anniversary Bhagat Kabir here today.

On the occasion Mr Badal paid rich tributes of Bhagat Kabir.

He further said the SAD-BJP Government was fully committed for the upliftment of oppressed and deprived sections of the society and number of schemes were being launched in this regard.

He said that the new concept of Adarsh Schools being adopted by SAD-BJP government would provide education to all the poor children.

He said that if some organisations or individual could arrange minimum 5 to 6 acres of land near Bathinda, then the government was ready to provide a fund of Rs four crores for the construction of a modern school here.

Regarding the face-lifting of Bathinda city, Mr Badal said that the government had constituted Bathinda Development Authority that would revamp water, sewerage and other basic facilities in a planned and phased manner to sort-out all the problems being faced by the residents.

Earlier while addressing reporters he said that the Sacha Sauda Dera issue was being handled in an appropriate manner by his government. He claimed that the law and order situation was normal in the state.

Regarding the Atta Dal scheme, Mr Badal said that identification of beneficiaries for this scheme had already been completed and it would be implemented from August 15.
