Akali activist shot dead in Sangrur

Sangrur, July 14 (UNI) A Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) activist was allegedly gunned down by a farmer in Andaana village in the district last night, police today stated.

According to the police SAD member Tara Chand was shot dead by Bhagwan Singh at his house. Personel enmity was said to be the reason for the crime.

The alleged culprit after committing the crime crossed over into the neighbouring state of Haryana. The police has registered a case in this connection.
