6 engineers suspended for laxity

Sultanpur, July 14 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Naseemuddin Siddiqui today suspended six engineers, including two executive, for dereliction in road construction here.

Mr Siddiqui was unsatisfied with the pace of Ramvan Gaman Path's construction on the Allahabad-Faizabad highway.

He directed to lodge an FIR against project's contractor and ex-minister Harishankar Tiwari's son Vinay, besides giving an adverse entry to the construction company.

Following laxity, executive, junior and assistant engineers were suspended with immediate effect.

Meanwhile, on complaint of Jai Singhpur MLA O P Singh, executive, junior and assistant engineers were suspended for irregularities in the construction of Raipur-Saidi Patti highway being constructed under the Prime Minister Gram Sadak Yojna.

Besides, an FIR was lodged against the contractor concerned.
