Three militants killed, one surrender in Kashmir
Srinagar, July 13 (UNI) Troops killed three militants, including a commander, while another surrendered in the Kashmir valley today, a defence ministry spokesman said.
He said 36 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) launched a search operation at Nich Mawar forest in Dooru area of south Kashmir district of Anantnag this morning following a tip-off about the presence of militants there.
During the operation, an encounter ensued in which a self styled company commander Yousuf Bimla alias Rizean of a militant outfit was killed.
Another militant Shahnawaz Naikoo alias Nazadings surrendered during the operation.
Two AK Rifles and other arms and ammunition were recovered from the slain and surrendered militants.
He said in another operation by six Grenadiers two militants were killed in an fierce encounter which ensued after a search party was attacked by the ultras hiding in general area Kelan. One AK rifle and other arms and ammunition were recovered from the slain militants.
