Speaker asks govt. to submit performance report on MML

Bangalore, July 13 (UNI) Karnataka Legislative Assembly Speaker Krishna directed the state government to submit a performance report on the House Committee report on the mismanagement of Mysore Minerals Ltd within three months.

Mr Krishna gave his ruling after the discussion initiated by Mr J C Madhuswamy of JD (U) under rule 234 instructing the government to produce the report on looting the money from the Public Sector Unit.

Mr Sriramareddy of CPI (M) and Mr Roshan Baig of Congress taking part in the discussion demanded for a CBI inquiry into the looting crore of rupees of the government in connivance with officials, politicians and industrialists for last several years.

The House Committee report, which was placed in the house yesterday said that the company had suffered a loss of Rs 700 crore due to the mismanagement of iron ore business by the officials.

The Speaker had allowed the issue to be taken up for a discussion on the committee report following a statement from Parliamentary Affairs Minister M P Prakash.

He said the government had already referred the case to Lok Ayukta.
