Rs 100 crore earmarked for new Tourist Complexes in Punjab
Mohali, July 13 (UNI) Punjab Government has earmarked Rs 100 crore to open new Tourist Complexes in the state and a new tourism policy was also in pipeline to revive the Tourism Industry in the state, Punjab Tourism and Cultural Affairs Minister Hira Singh Gabria said here today.
In the first phase, district Rupnagar, Ludhiana, Kapurthala, Jalandhar and Amritsar would get modern tourist complexes where better services and facilities would be provided to tourists, the minister said adding that a new tourism policy would also be announced soon.
In Mohali to kick-start the work on Rs two Crore mega-tourist complex, the minister said two new trains and a bus circuit for pilgrimage in the state would be introduced.
The first train which would start this year would link all five Takhats of Sikhs, so that devotees could pay their obeisance without any inconvenience. The second train, with five star facilities to pilgrims would link all religious places of importance in the state from next year, he said.
