PUCL leader's hearing postponed

Bilaspur, July 13 (UNI) The Chhattisgarh High Court today postponed to July 16 the hearing of a bail plea submitted by PUCL Vice-President Binayak Sen, who was arrested for violating the Chhattisgarh Public Security Act.

The hearing was postponed as Justice Sunil Sinha was unwell. On July 4, Justice S L Bhadoo transferred the petition to the other Bench on the ground that he chairs the state government's Advisory Committee on the Act.

Dr Sen was apprehended on May 14 for conveying a message from naxal leader Narayan Sanyal, who is incarcerated here, to extreme leftist Piyush Guha. The PUCL leader is jailed at Raipur.
