UP: Freedom fighter dead
Allahabad, July 13: Veteran freedom fighter Jagdamba Prasad Srivastava, who actively participated in the struggle for Independence, died here late last night.
He was 95-year old.
Srivastava had the privilege of working with renowned leaders like Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru and Vijay Laxmi Pandit for making India a sovereign country by uprooting the British rule.
He was also lodged in jail for taking part in 1942 'Bahrat Chodo Andolan.' His last rites were performed at his ancestral village Aspur today.
