Corporates have no role in politics: Narayanmurthy

Chennai, July 13: Former Infosys chief N R Narayanamurthy today declined to comment on the rumours doing the rounds that his name was to be proposed for the Vice President post.

Talking to newspersons here he emphasised that politics is not meant for business people and said '' I am not aware of it, and I have no idea.'' Mr Narayanamurthy, however, parried questions on his interest in being nominated to the post.

Answering another question regarding the confusion and controversy about the Presidential candidate among the political parties, he said ''I am not the right person to comment on this.'' He said Corporates should not have a role in politics in the country. Instead, they should make themselves more relevant to customers.

He also said the public administration system should be more transparent.
