CM's nod for post-metric hostels for minorities

Hyderabad, July 13 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today approved a proposal to start 14 post-metric hostels for minorities in a bid to promote higher education among them.

According to an official release here, the chief minister took the decision on a representation from many minority leaders, officials and educationists.

He also sanctioned the required posts like hostel welfare officer and cooks in a bid to help the students enjoy better infrastructure facilities.

Upgradation of the government girls high schools at Falaknuma and Maisaram in the city to junior colleges with english medium and shifting the Babu Jagjivan Ram Government Junior College presently at Abids to the old city were some of the other proposals approved by him.
