New Delhi, July 13 (UNI) Eleven social, political and intelectuals groups in Asom have come under single umbrella organisation - Asom United Democratic Front (AUDF) to draw the attention of the State government and the Centre towards their right for a healthy growth and development of all sections within the society.

Talking to UNI over the phone from Nogaon (Asom), the AUDF President Chitto Pal regretted that there was only one representation of the minority Bengali community in the form of Gautam Roy in the present cabinet and he too is not given any important portfolio and that is highly deplorable.

He said their are many other minority communities settled in various parts of the State and they too did not find any representation in the cabinet.

If this situation is not corrected immediately, the Congress might loose a large chunk of its minority vote who happens to be the traditional vote bank of the party, Mr Pal added.

He said a message in this regard has already been faxed to Congress president Sonia Gandhi by All Asom Bengali Parishad (AABP) urging her to direct the State government to take corrective measures.

A party delegation will visit Delhi in August to put the things in right prospective, Mr Pal said.
