Sify, Microsoft pact to bridge digital divide

Chennai, July 12 (UNI) Leading internet service provider Sify Ltd will work with Microsoft India to empower Indians with internet and IT service and help bridge the digital divide.

Sify would partner Microsoft to enable easy access for Microsoft's initiatives through its over 3,500 strong 'I-way' cyber cafe chain, as well as through its home internet access service, a company statement here today said.

Sify would offer its cyber cafe subscriber access to licensed Microsoft office software, so that they can use the cafe as a virtual office for their needs.

Sify was also supporting Microsoft in bringing the industry together for the path-breaking 'IQ-PC' initative.

The PC for families with school going children, would include 100 hours of free internet access.
