Rupee opens firm 40.37/38 per USD

Mumbai, July 12: The Indian Rupee continued its surge over US Dollar (USD) this morning and made a firm start at Rs 40.37/38 per USD from its previous close of Rs 40.40/41.

After making a firm start the local currency traded further higher level of Rs 40.34/35 per USD before trading at the opening level, forex dealers said.

There was not much activity witnessed in the opening hour, dealers said adding that the they expect the Rupee to gain further during the course of trading against the American Greenback.
