One dies as French Mirage and light plane collide

PARIS, July 12 (Reuters) At least one person was killed when a military jet collided in mid-air with a light aircraft in eastern France today, a local official said.

The official said the Mirage 2000-N military plane managed to stay airborne but the small plane crashed into a cornfield near the town of Tournus. A body was found in the wreckage.
