Heroin worth Rs two crore seized

Amritsar, Jul 12 (UNI) Police seized two kg heroin, worth Rs two crore, from a motorcycle-borne person at Bhikiwind in Tarn Taran district late last evening.

Sleuths of the Special Narcotic Cell of the Punjab Police arrested the accused, identified as Tapraj Singh, while he was carrying the heroin to Amritsar. He is a member of the smugglers gang headed by notorious Dilraj Singh, police said.

Police registered a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
