Bihar govt evolves action plan for safe drinking water
Patna, July 12 (UNI) The Bihar government has evolved an ambitious action plan with an estimated investment of Rs 5.5 crore, which would be spent to test the purity level of water at more than three lakh terminals across the state.
State Public Health Engineering Department(PHED) official Prem Kumar told UNI here today that water testing drive under the proposed plan would be completed within six months.During the laboratory test of the water, percentage of floride, arsenic, nitrate and other ingredients would be assessed and there after remedial measures would be taken, he added.
Mr Kumar said, the state government had prepared the action plan following reports of spread of several diseases due to presence of arsenic and floride and other such elements in water.
