Kolkata, Jul 12 (UNI) The West Bengal Government will expand the administrative reforms committee by inducting two more members while allowing a lenient timeframe for submission of its report, Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee today said.

'' We will induct two more members from the IPS and the engineering wing since these two areas have no representation in the present ten-member committee,'' he said while answering a question in the state Assembly.

Mr Bhattacharjee said at present seven IAS officials and one representative each from IIM Joka, IIT Kharagpur and Indian Statistical Institute are in the administrative reforms committee, formation of which was notified on January three last.

According to the terms and references, the committee was supposed to submit in six months its report containing recommendations for necessary administrative reforms.

''But now I feel it will not be possible to make recommendations within this period,'' he said.

In reply to a question, whether there will be a fresh deadline for the commission to submit its report, the Chief Minister said in such exercises it was not possible to stipulate a timeframe.
