Bengal: 20 people injured in road accident

Barasat, July 12: At least 20 people, including children, were injured in a road accident early today at Kharibari under Barasat police station in North 24 Parganas.

Police said the accident occurred when a speeding truck rammed into a Tata Sumo and Maruti car, carrying the victims, at Nowabandh area in South 24 Parganas.

The victims were returing home after attending a marriage ceremony at Badu, police said.

Police had seized the truck, however, the driver is at large.

The injured were rushed to R G Kar Medial College Hospital and SSKM Hospital, police added.
